I have always been drawn to capturing a sense of nostalgia in photographs.

Whether it be vintage advertising, classic cars, or older buildings, I find myself enamoured with objects from bygone eras.

They evoke pleasant feelings of a simpler time, a time that predates smartphones, 4K TV’s, and streaming services.

I wanted to focus this portrait series on places that elicit those same feelings.

As a born-and-raised Calgarian, the idea of shooting environmental portraits in a few of the classic Calgary eateries appealed to me immensely.

In this project, I have tried to capture both the essence of these lovely restaurant interiors and the people that work in them.
